Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the parish of St. Thomas is in a better place now than it was a decade ago.
The agreement to construct the 436,000 square feet Morant Bay Urban Centre at the site of the old Goodyear factory in St. Thomas was signed in 2022.
Prime Minister Holness says despite delays to the beginning of the construction of the new centre, the project is set to be finished by September.
The prime minister added that the new Morant Bay Urban Centre will facilitate his administration’s plan to make living in St. Thomas a suitable alternative to living in Kingston.
