Factories Corporation of Jamaica invites application from suitable qualified persons to fill the position of SECURITY SUPERVISOR.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Client Services Manager, the incumbent will have the responsibility for the following:
- Manage the security risks for all FCJ properties island wide.
- Supervise security officers to include those contracted by the company.
- Ensure that proper security arrangements are in place including the monitoring of the movement of goods in and out of the Garmex Free Zone complex.
- Liaise with tenants on security matters.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
(a) Education:
- Degree in Security Management or related field
- Training in Supervisory Management
- Training in Security Management or related field
(b) Experience:
- Four (4) years relevant experience, including security operations
- Surveillance Monitoring
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(a) Security
- Ensure that the perimeter fencing for Properties are intact.
- Prepare roster for security personnel employed by the company and engaged by the company.
- Ensure that Private Security Guards engaged by the company are present and properly deployed.
- Supervise the FCJ security officers.
- Brief security officers on their responsibilities.
- Apprise self of all security reports and where necessary, take follow-up action.
- Ensure that the movement of people and goods in and out of the Garmex Free Zone complex are properly monitored.
- Liaise with the security personnel engaged by tenants.
(b) Administration
- Identify and protect company assets through the development and implementation of security protocols.
- Make sure that staff follow security procedures and guidelines through training programs and assessments
- Ensure the safety of staff and customers within the workplace
- Perform security process evaluations and inspections
- Prepare the organization and staff for external inspections
- Manage the budget for security operations within an organization
- Controlling the security operations budget, monitoring expenses, and documenting processes.
- Developing work schedules, allocating tasks, and monitoring personnel performance.
- Coordinating responses to emergencies and alarms, as well as compiling incident reports.
- Preparing surveillance equipment maintenance schedules and facilitating repairs in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulations.
- Receive complaints from security officers, zone personnel and advise Client Services Manager on appropriate action.
- Ensure the procurement of items required by security personnel for the proper execution of their duties.
- Prepare reports of breaches and forward to relevant departments.
- Participate in the development of new security strategies for the improvement of the Garmex Free Zone complex’s security system.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
- Required to be on call 24 hours.
